Math 077: Mathematical Reasoning Workshop

Course Description

This is a co-requisite course for Math 118 students. It is intended to address gaps in students’ mathematical knowledge, and provide them with problem solving tactics and tools to help them succeed in Math 118 and subsequent courses. A large part of the course will involve real word applications of quantitative reasoning skills. A more detailed reminder of algebraic techniques will be given in a student-centered environment with personalized homework and worksheets to address individual needs.  Extensive computer use required.

Credit Awarded

Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading only.  No credit toward graduation is awarded.

Each class meeting students will work on either group work, activities, worksheets, or one-on-one tutoring.

Mini and Final Project

Throughout the course, students will have to complete several mini-projects and final group project.
